The t typically stands for "telecoil" or "t-coil" for short. To learn more about the telecoil, please read Dr. Sterkens's response to this question. The question is about a different product, but the function of a telecoil is the same across brands. Telecoils can be useful for public hearing loops as Dr. Sterkens describes, as well as landline phones.
