Margaret ("Peggy") T

After receiving her bachelor's degree from West Virginia University, Dr. Tomko earned her Doctor of Audiology degree at Ohio University. She has a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.

Dr. Tomko chose her specialty after a personality test suggested it would be an optimal fit, soon confirmed by education and clinical experience. With patient-centered care as her ultimate goal, she believes that every person deserves respect and individualized health care. She eagerly looks forward to a relationship with each patient, welcoming his or her decision-making involvement.

Dr. Tomko specializes in audiometry (hearing tests), amplification (hearing aids), central auditory processing disorders and auditory working memory. She hopes that rechargeable hearing aids will become more common, and that increased consideration will be given to the relationship between cognition, attention, memory and hearing sensitivity.

An only child from northeast Ohio, Dr. Tomko now loves living near the ocean, rich history and military community in Hampton Roads. Her favorite interests include bird watching, nature and wildlife study, reading, painting, and visiting local museums.
