ISELIN, NJ – Signia today announced that Pure Charge&Go MaX, the world’s first hearing aid powered by the Multi‑adaptive Xperience (MaX) platform, is now available to audiologists within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (), as well as the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Indian Health Service (IHS). Leveraging Acoustic Intelligence™, MaX integrates four specialized deep neural networks that work together in real time to understand speech, noise, the environment, and the wearer’s own voice.
For veterans with hearing loss, some of the most meaningful everyday moments can also be among the most challenging to hear. Family gatherings, crowded restaurants, and conversations with fellow veterans often involve multiple voices competing with background noise, making it difficult to follow and participate in the conversation.
Powered by four specialized working simultaneously, Signia MaX adapts to complex listening environments to help wearers follow and participate in conversations, even when multiple people are speaking at once. In research, 97% of wearers performed better with MaX in noisy group conversations compared to key competitors,1 with the platform also ranking No. 1 in signal-to-noise ratio () performance in group conversation in noise.2
Mike Irby, AuD, WSA VP of Sales, Government ServicesGovernment audiologists regularly work with veterans and active duty personnel who can hear well in a one-on-one conversation but still struggle to follow what’s happening around a crowded dinner table. With Signia MaX, we’re bringing the world’s first four-DNN AI hearing aid platform to Government Services, giving audiologists a powerful new way to address one of the most persistent challenges in hearing care. This means more opportunities to follow the conversation, join in, and fully enjoy the moments they love.
Acoustic Intelligence: A New Approach to Hearing in Noise
Traditional hearing aids often struggle to keep pace with dynamic group conversations, where voices overlap and background noise constantly changes. Signia MaX addresses this through Acoustic Intelligence™, which unites four task-specific —Speech Detection, Own Voice Detection, Scene Analysis, and Noise Processing—that work together as one coordinated system to power four core capabilities:
- RealTime Conversation EnhancementAI – Locates and enhances multiple conversation partners in dynamic group conversation. It now processes 75% more data points per second compared to Signia IX.
- Own Voice ProcessingAI – Provides immediate, accurate own voice recognition without any in-clinic calibration.
- Ambient Scene AdaptationAI – Moves beyond traditional scene classification and fixed listening programs to continuously analyze and adapt to multiple environmental characteristics.
- Dynamic Noise ControlAI – Understands what noise is present, where it comes from, and whether the wearer is in conversation – adjusting noise reduction appropriately.
The platform is powered by the new Signia MaX chip, which delivers 54X more processing power than previous generations, 50% greater energy efficiency for all-day, always-on performance, and 2X the memory required for continuous real-time analysis.3
Pure C&G MaX: Designed for Every Day
Pure C&G MaX features a rechargeable receiver-in-canal () design that is available in eight color options, and includes a pocket-size portable charger that stores up to four full charges. A full charge takes four hours, while 30 minutes of charging provides up to six hours of runtime.
Pure C&G MaX also features OneConnect Technology, supporting Bluetooth® Classic, , , and ™ connectivity.4 This gives audiologists one complete connectivity solution that can accommodate veterans’ devices, listening preferences, and everyday communication needs.
“We’ve spent years advancing technology to help people participate in noisy group conversations, and MaX takes that work to an entirely new level,” Irby concluded. “For government audiologists, the arrival of Acoustic Intelligence means they can offer veterans and active duty personnel technology that understands the complexity of everyday listening, helping them stay involved when conversations get lively and the world gets loud. That’s what it means to Live Noisy.”
In addition to MaX, Active Mini IX is now available through the VA, DoD, and IHS. As the world’s smallest ready-to-wear in-the-ear () hearing aid with connectivity, Active Mini IX brings the full performance of Signia’s Integrated Xperience (IX) platform to a discreet, rechargeable design that enables same-day fittings without custom molds.
