Candace Depp, AuD, Senior National Sales Director of Oticon Government ServicesOticon is proud to partner with Homes for Our Troops to support US Veterans like Corporal Davila who have so generously served their country. Through the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense and other federal agencies, Oticon provides life-changing technology that improves not just hearing but quality of life for our nation’s retired and active-duty service members. Our support of Homes For Our Troops gives us another opportunity to make life more accessible to Veterans—restoring their freedom and independence to help them rebuild their lives.
Since 2017, Oticon has provided donations to support the construction of specially adapted custom HFOT homes for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans. Marine Corporal Davila lost his right leg below the knee after his vehicle hit an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan in 2009. In his newly built accessible home, he will be able to use his wheelchair and continue to recuperate after wearing his prosthetic.
“Our ongoing support for Homes For Our Troops reflects our deep gratitude for the sacrifices our nation’s heroes make every day,” said Mike Marcinek, Vice President and General Manager, Government Services and Pediatrics. “By partnering with Homes For Our Troops and other Veteran-focused organizations, we actively honor and give back to the brave men and women who have served our country."

About Homes For Our Troops (HFOT)
Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) is a publicly funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives.
Most of these Veterans have sustained injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, blindness, severe burns, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives.
Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents out of every dollar spent has gone directly to our program services for Veterans. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live, and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives.
