I loved my Starkey hearing aids and I guess to be honest, I mostly loved them because they let me hear better, sight unseen. Now. here I am 10 years and $5,000 later, finding out they are not at good as cheaper Starkey hearing aids. My audiologist tells me that my hearing has diminished considerably and he has reached the point where only for a short time longer can he increase the sounds for me. He calls my hearing aids the "sportscar version of hearing aids", small but unable to have my growth in them.
He is now recommending that I purchase over the ear hearing aids, another 6K at least.
What a letdown and dissapointment

I've had my Starkey Soundlens Syndery IICs for 24 months. I care for them well clean the exteriors nightly and change the wax guards regularly , not exposed to any unusual environments or conditions.
Over that time one or both has been sent in for repair every 2-3 months.
Problems include :
Consistently failing microphone / chip (sound plays but no external sound comes through)
Heavy feedback in one ear even when turned down to lowest volume
Heavy static crackling in one ear making it impossible to wear.
I have a 4 year warranty on these, but at the current pace they will be garbage within a month after the warranty expiration.
I feel hearing aids that need to be sent in every two months for repairs are unacceptable.
