Signia Silk Nx Reviews

Hearing aid reviews are fundamentally different from reviews for most other consumer electronic products. The reason is because individual factors, like degree of hearing loss, have a profound effect one's success and overall satisfaction with the product. When purchasing a hearing aid, you'll need to consider more than just your hearing outcome ... Continue reading

I purchased the lowest tech level, Silk 1nx, which isn't even presented on Signia's website or brochures. For the price I paid locally, $1000+tax for the PAIR, I can't complain. Just in the finding the perfect click sleeves or dome process atm, but in the end I believe I'll be satisfied with the results.

My provider set up 6 programs and made the right choice for the snap fit sleeve. I have only had it for a few weeks now but from day one I hardly knew I was wearing it except my hearing is greatly improved. I am very happy I chose the Signia Nx 7Nx. My only regret is that I didn't get one sooner.

I have moderate/severe hearing loss in both ears, I've tried and used several brands, 3 that were CIC in the ear types (mostly invisible) and 3 RIC behind the ear types in my search for the best overall fit for myself and lifestyle. The Silk Nx are the best by far and the only hearing aids that I have used that I am completely satisfied with. It did take some time trial and error to figure out which click sleeve size worked best for me but now that I have figured that part out they are amazing. They don't fall out if you have the correct sleeve size, and you cant even feel them if you are using the correct size of sleeve and putting them in correctly, that is the key to getting them to sound and fit right, there are a lot of sizes available vented and non-vented. You also have to figure out how far to push them in. I noticed that if you jam them in too far they tend to hurt after awhile just like every other aid receiver does, when I started using the larger sleeves they don't go in quite as far, they are snug, don't come loose and you can hardly feel them. They are pretty much invisible, someone could see the black face plate if looking over your shoulder from behind but that's about it. One of the best things is that they don't interfere with glasses like the behind the ear models and they work fantastic on the phone. My job requires me to be on the phone most of the day and with these its like having normal ear function and hearing. Every single behind the ear type I tried previously had issues with phone calls, I've tried streaming types and telecoil types both of which were difficult to hear with and a pain to use. Overall these fit the bill perfectly for me in every aspect, every other I have used always left me searching for something better after a few months .. not the case with these.. The more I read reviews on here the more it seems to me that the person fitting you is probably one of the most important aspects to being happy with any purchase. If for example I would have bought these and walked out with only the small sleeves I would have had huge issues falling out ect,, but because the guy fitting me suggested trying different sizes it worked out to be perfect.

Buyers remorse here. They cut out and one keeps falling out. When they work off and on I get too much brash sound of doors closing, car motors and chairs being moved. I can't hear my grandchildren talking any better which is why I got them. In fact, they block my hearing so I have to take them out to hear the little ones. They are as expensive as ones from my audiologist I went to for many years and more than at Costco. When I wanted to return them, no one would listen to me or see me when I could get a ride. They kept blaming me for not using them right until the eve of 45 days to return them. I'm still waiting for my refund. I'm out thousands of dollars and hours and hours of time not to mention missing hearing important messages at church and family reunions.

The problems you describe all sound like failures of the person (I wouldn't call them a "professional") who fit these hearing aids on you. The aids themselves can certainly have technical problems from time to time, but that is what the warranty is for. If one was not staying in the ear, then a different dome or sleeve should have been used. For the right patient, these HAs perform remarkably well when fit by a professional.

The Signia Silk NX5 are my 1st H Aids (both ears - had them for 1.5 months), so I have nothing to compare to but 1) they hurt 2) they continuously almost fall out (tried various sized grommets 3) absolutely useless in noisy environments. Better to switch off and remove. 3) battery in one runs down faster than the other but it seems that the weaker battery unit performs worse (a lot) than the other... Almost as if I have an ear plug in the ear. Have booked an appointment with audiologist to check left ear. Been back for routine checks 5 times since purchase.

Dec 2020 - I was new to HA's when I wrote the above. Point 1) above - used to them and no problems any longer , 2) Never fall out - I was using wrong size grommets/sleeves, 3) Had settings adjusted and they are now fine, 4) Batteries are lasting +-7 days (08:00 to 21:00).  I did have a problem with mic slots blocking with dirt. Now use a very fine haired art brush to clean slots. They have a 3 yr warranty and have been replaced without a singl challenge from Signia - getting X's later this month but will keep the Nx's as spares.

Yeah mine hurt too as soon as I put them in, then later in the day I forget there there. Most times the larger piece(good ear) starts slipping out,and I need to keep pushing them in. It’s been one week, and I open the battery compartment at night as I was told. Its already switching off, and I don’t even realise. I take them out and the sound is the same, because the good ear is blocked from the piece not allowing full sound thru.Don’t know why I am wearing them.

I do not seem to hear that anyone had the occlusion effect so that their own voice was echoing and booming. These reviews are very good in that their experiences are rather well expressed. Very helpful.

I’ve been wearing mine for 3 months and overall they are excellent.

They fit well , no issues falling out ! My hearing is greatly improved as I can now hear high treble sounds .when I take them out I get the muffled sounds so they do work.

I wish the app would be more responsive to volume and programming but it’s workable. I change batteries every 3 days basically.

I’m going to keep them
