ReSound LiNX 3D Reviews

Hearing aid reviews are fundamentally different from reviews for most other consumer electronic products. The reason is because individual factors, like degree of hearing loss, have a profound effect one's success and overall satisfaction with the product. When purchasing a hearing aid, you'll need to consider more than just your hearing outcome ... Continue reading

I think for $10,000.00 they are the worst investment I ever made.

The service sucks, and I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone with severe hearing loss !!!!

Loved the app, but connectivity issues would cause it to disconnect frequently.

The noise suppression worked very well.

I have had Costco Resound Vida ITE HA's about 3 months. I run the Resound 3D app on an S7 Edge. Once I learned how to use the app, I really like all the HA control. The app disconnects when the phone is out of range of the HA, about 3-4 feet. Also, when restarting the HA, they go to some default setting, not where they were when turned off. I also got the TV & phone BT streamers, which work well, but shut out other conversation.

My hearing loss is in the severe/profound category therefore I need an aid with a power receiver. When I was first fitted with this aid the feedback from the snap-in receiver was uncontrollable. I had to order the expensive receiver embedded in the earmold to get it under control. Despite that improvement this aid sounded muddy, not at all clear and crisp like my previous aid. After making some adjustments it still wasn't any better. I couldn't even make out what my wife was saying in a quiet environment. To be fair it did seem to perform well in a noisy restaurant environment but that's about it. I finally gave up, returned it and ordered a Starkey instead.

My hearing is severe. I have worn hearing aids for about 35 years. I can't get by without them. My aids are bluetooth receiver in the ear and the best I have worn.

With Power dome and HP receiver: - Music: I hear better with beats sound at comfort level of my hearing loss -Iphone stream phone call: I hear great and comfortable -Group talking: It was terrible, I missed most of words they said. Low volume -One to one conversation: It was terrible, I missed most of words they said. Low volume -People talking around me: I missed most. -Volume up and down -Quiet -Unclear speech on one to one conversation With Customed ear molds and HP2 receiver: -Music: One day muddle, other day reprogrammed to high treble, other day reprogrammed heavy bass then volume changed to high treble sound when it comes to voice singing. I went 5 visits to see audiologists for this -Iphone stream call: Uncomfortable voices, annoying, loud to my ears -Group talking: One loud, distrupted to whom I was talking to, unclear. -People around me talking: Very good, clear speech -Volume up and down: No -Annoying loud screaming 2 years old crying -Uncomfortable annoying, when anyone talking to me How are things going with my hearing aids? Unsatisfied. They're unlike my Resound Live 7. I had them both repaired and they came back with program wiped out. None of my local audiologists have the software to fix it just like I have a copy of my audiogram and program set I received when I got these hearing aids from audiologist, from out of state. Because, I got these new hearing aids with power dome last May. I am unable to return these hearing aids. The audiologist did not alert me when 45 days are up and had me decide. The audiologist never call me to see how was I doing with hearing aids. I had to schedule my visit repeatedly to reprogram these new hearing aids. NK December 2018 Updated: April 2019 I changed audiologist and explained my situation. She switched from mold with HP2 to dome with HP. And she turned off environmental optimizer and noise reduction. Then, everything is perfect.

These fit well. My ears are relatively tightly folded against my head and I wear glasses. The first pair of hearing aids that I tried, the ReSound LiNX 3d 629 RIE, were wider and caused my ear to be irritated when I wore glasses. Where the glasses went over my ear, the hearing aids pushed outwards against my ear. I changed to the ReSound LiNX 3d 629 RIE and a longer wire to the receiver -- the combination did the trick and my ears are fine now. The hearing improvement was excellent with both models.

The label on my delivery box reads: HI,LT562 - DRW,MBL Which model is this? Music at high frequencies is hopelessly out of tune. The same is also true for my 'unaided' ears, but my hearing has 'adapted' by damping out offending frequencies the HA is now amplifying and presenting to my brain. I have used Audacity (open source audio file editing software) to generate a 500 Hz sine tone. Its 'octave' should be 1000 Hz. That sounds 'sharp.' If I lower the frequency to 960 Hz that sounds more like an octave to my ears. I suspect that at higher frequencies the problem is more pronounced but I've not worked on that yet. I'm trying to learn how to present both frequencies simultaneously; my skill level is not yet that high. Has another forum user solved this problem? Are there audiology terms I should know to help me discuss this problem with my audiologist?

So far so good 6 months in. Paired with an iPhone call and streaming music is of high quality. Used a phone clip for 2 months at the beginning with an Android phone, and while it was still good quality, the additional hardware was another thing to look after and co-ordinate. Unlikely to go back to any middleware after using these hearing aids with an iPhone. I have found two programs created by my audiologist very useful, my now default "All Around" which acts as generally as it sounds, and "Restaurant" for noisier environments like cafe's, restaurants and the gym. It has a great ability to cut out background noise. Of course, it is impossible to remove it completely, but speech is audible in a noisy environment, and noise tolerable. While streaming phone calls or music, I am able to mute the mics completely or partially to focus on the stream - this is ideal if in a noisy environment, but also ideal if I need to bring the mic's back to ask someone next to me a question while I am on the phone. Often in the past, one of my biggest issues with hearing aids was balancing calls volume with in-situ discussion - something important for the office or workplace.

After wearing Widex aids and liking them for 12 years or more, I am on day 5 of the Resound linx3d 619 as suggested by my Audi.. So far my issue would be the sound is generally too crisp or sharp as opposed to my older more natural sounding Widex Mind 440. They aren’t working too well with TV. iPhone is pretty good so far. I’m not sure I’m in love with all the programs, and find myself fritzing with the volumes or settings too much. I suspect I should put them on all around and leave it to my brain to sort out for a while for possible. There might be too many bells and whistles for me. I am also trying custom molds and have some adjustment to those to conquer. Feel a little more aware of them and one needs to be buffed as my Audi called it. I’ve never had to turn hearing aids back in for a different product, but wonder if he can just do some minor tweaking to make the sound more to my liking. TV is important to me so something must be done to either improve that program or else I may have to change. Hoping he can adjust some things next week. He didn’t want to add the tinnitus program and said remote programming ability required paperwork for legal reasons? I paid a lot of money for these and feel every option should be presented at least.

I've had them for 5 months and am turning them in today. TV no good, still need captions, Blue Tooth, works much of the time but cuts out on one side frequently. I do hear "better" in the bird-song range, but other than that, seem not much better than 3 year old Phonak
Nsk N
How did you turn them in ? Was it 30 days trial past due? My audiologist is not letting me return the hearing aids after 6 months. During 45 days trial I’ve been complaining , all she did was to do fitting.

These are awesome hearing aids. I love the smart features (I'm a bit of a nerd) and the gadgets - the multi mic and the android phone mic. And while I don't experience tinnitus, I have a lot of trouble relaxing so find the tinnitus app very helpful.

I have worn Phonak and Starkey for the past 18 years. This is my first experience with Resound and I am extremely impressed. The hearing aid technology is spectacular, the features are shockingly cool, the phone app is clean/precise and phenomenal. I have never seen this kind of improvement in the hearing aid world.

Have had a series of problems from start. Right aid needed to be returned and reworked/replaced. Still hear occasional "broadcasts" in right aid and last night trying to listen to tv in living room, heard our dishwasher running in the kitchen - a quiet dishwasher that I usually barely hear running sitting 5 feet away. It is a big bother to fish phone from pocket, open it to reset aids to program designed for environment I just entered. Special programs for different environments do not deliver what they promise. Feel like the cartoon of the caveman holding a bunch if twigs, standing by the fire, saying, "now that I've discovered it, I keep worrying that it will go out" The tail is wagging the dog here - I am serving the hearing aids , they are not serving me. Great concept in theory but not good in practice.

This 1 hearing aid is on loan from shop, until my ordered hearing aid , a different model I wore this type before but was needing a new one so new hearing aid is being delivered to the shop. This week, thankfully will be returning this one on loan. I am not comfortable using the resound anyway. Too identical to the NHS hearing aid. the noisy feedback whistling in my ear no way to get rid of noise It doesn't feel comfortable in the ear, the behind the ear model slips off my ear.. I would not buy this model, maybe suitable for others, but not for me no thanks. Unhappy loan user.

I recently upgraded to an iPhone 7 and decided to upgrade my hearing aids at the same time. I was previously wearing the Starkey halos, but was drawn to the remote adjustment features in the Resound. I looked at the Signia aids, which also have remote adjustments, but I wasn't as familiar with that brand so decided to go with the Linx 3d. So far really happy with my choice, and my provider has been great about helping me out with my issues from home... which means a lot to me... I live in a small town without any hearing clinics nearby.

I have the ReSound LiNX2, model 61. I have been wearing these for about one month now. I had Unitron before these and thought they were great. These have great technology and streaming capabilities which I love! I can change my environment setting thru my smart phone to adapt the functionality of the hearing instruments. I'm very happy so far and hope to have these for many years. Thank you for staying so advanced in your development of hearing instruments. So many need to hear better and would welcome the opportunity to do so! Hearing is for all ages. I hope that type of marketing becomes available so more younger people will not hesitate to wear hearing aides.

Just got mine a couple of days ago. Will I get to the point where I don't notice I'm wearing them? By the late afternoon I have to remove them as they are bothering me. Also, today my iPhone indicated that I needed to install an update. I tried several times but my phone still shows the update needs to be installed. Anyone else experience this problem?
Margaret (
Many people take a little time for the hearing aids to be completely comfortable and natural-feeling, just like when you wear a new watch or glasses for the first time. It's perfectly fine, in my opinion, to take a break from wearing the hearing aids for 15-60 minutes each day. However, if they are uncomfortable you may want to try a different dome size; your hearing healthcare professional can help you with this. I have not heard anything yet about the update, so I apologize that I cannot help you with that. Your hearing healthcare professional may have some insight into that as well; if not, they will be able to call ReSound support while you are in the office.

Since you are a "valued member" of this forum, could you help my husband with advice on how to simply insert the receiver of this aid? He was given the aid, told to shove the wire "up and in, keep wiggling, keep trying" and that was it. We haven't returned for the first followup visit but he is already so discouraged. The receiver on his is just a piece of wire with a flap of super thin rubber, no earmold, plug or anything. We just can't figure out a good reliable way to get the wire into where it needs to be in his ear canal, and I'm sure he is going to throw them at the audiologist when we go back!
Margaret (
Hi there! I am an audiologist in Newport News, VA. Inserting the receiver is sometimes the most difficult part, and takes a bit of practice. I usually encourage my patients to aim the dome (the rubbery ear tip) forward toward the nose. Ear canals are supposed to curve, but some people have VERY curvy (we actually use the word torturous!) ear canals, which makes insertion more of a challenge. Sometimes it helps to straighten the ear canal slightly by using one hand to pull up and back on the pinna (the outermost part of the ear which holds the hearing aid, glasses, etc.) while using the other hand to work the receiver forward toward the nose. Here are the steps I suggest for my patients: 1) Hang the hearing aid over the top of the ear 2) Aim the receiver so that it is pointing forward toward your nose, and push it into the ear canal 3) Scoop the retention tail/sport lock up into the bowl of the ear (if there is one) 4) Use the pinkie finger and push on the elbow of the receiver wire foward toward the nose. The elbow should settle in the little notch that's between the tragus (triangular cartilage in front of the ear canal) and the helix (cartilage along the border of the pinna around the top and front) to be flush with the side of the head. It is difficult to describe with words, as you can see. There may be some good YouTube videos out there, which I cannot access from my work computer. Please communicate the difficulty with your audiologist; he or she should be able to give you some tips and in-person coaching, or may be able to suggest an alternative.

I am done with Resound. So many trips to have them sent in for repair. They have actually sent me new ones that are junk too. Demanding a pro rated refund. These things are not worth my time any longer. Think I was scammed into purchasing these. You would think for over $ 5 grand they would last.
